Every One Matters
'Every One Matters' is a slogan used by the Oxford County Community Health Centre. The OCCHC is located at 35 Metcalf Street in Woodstock, which many long-time city residents still recall to be a former local Post Office.
OCCHC has many roles, including the important RAAM program or Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Clinic.
The brochure scanned on my home printer was picked up at the Woodstock Hospital 2 weeks ago, so I would say it's accurate and up-to-date.
If you're struggling with alcohol or opioid use, OCCHC has a program to assist you. See the brochure for dates and times to access a medical professional. Maybe the best idea is that an appointment is not necessary, but available dates in Woodstock are Mondays and Tuesdays.

The flyer says it best: "Our purpose is to remove barriers to healthcare and provide a wide range of support services. All services are free."
An important line in the publication is . . . The RAAM is not a methadone clinic or a withdrawal centre.
I'm passing along this information because not everyone realizes the number of options that do exist locally for addictions. If you want help -- help exists. Opioid care is either Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone) or Sublocade. I'm not a doctor, addiction specialist or a pharmacist, but your questions can be answered at the OCCHC.
Besides alcohol and drug treatments, the OCCHC can assist in many other ways: First Five years pediatric program including vaccinations, youth physical development screening, mental health counselling, dietician services, physiotherapy, a dental clinic, and many others.
One service which has received a lot of necessary local press is the Mobile Health Outreach Bus which has a mandate to be out in the community where those seeking medical assistance can be seen easier. The bus will also supply hygiene items, hats and mittens, sleeping bags and snacks, and likely topping the list is non-judgmental health watch such as wound care and basic medications.
If you know someone who is unhoused or does not have on-going medical care through a family physician, be sure they know about both OCCHC and RAAM.
Running in the municipal election for the roles of both City and County Council on Oct. 26, I know about the many available programs for the unhoused and those with addictions -- Hart Hub (It's open to serve Oxford but at a temporary location on Huron Street), The Inn / Operation Sharing, Clinic 461 at 461 Dundas in Woodstock, Canadian Addiction Treatment Centre (CATC) at 300 Main St in Woodstock, at www.oxfordaa.com., or through https://cmha.ca/news/branches/oxford-county-branch/
